Description
From Šventaragis to 1000 Wolves — the first City Myths Festival — invites Vilnius residents and guests to return to where it all began: Gediminas Castle Hill. While Vilnius is often said to have started with Gediminas’ dream and the Iron Wolf legend, before the dream there was fire — burning at the confluence of the Vilnia and Neris rivers, in Šventaragis Valley, where Duke Šventaragis, according to chronicles, introduced the cremation rite and laid the foundations for the city’s spiritual essence. This festival invites visitors to reconnect with this forgotten beginning — through an intimate headphone-based experience on the hill where the city’s legend was born.
On the second night of the festival, September 11, singer Gabriele Vilkickytė will perform her acoustic concert Dream of the Wolf, heard entirely through headphones. It will be a quiet, intimate escape from the city’s noise — a moment when only the essence remains.
In Gabriele’s work, the wolf represents the wild side of human nature — the part we try to tame during the day, but which returns at night with dreams, anxiety, and sleeplessness. It is also the symbol of Vilnius, still guarding the city.
“Vilnius has always been special to me. I have a deep connection with it — and through my songs, that bond only deepens. This acoustic concert on Gediminas Tower is a long-held dream that is finally coming true. It’s the ideal place for my music — when everything is stripped down to the essence, when people can truly hear what I and Vilnius want to say. We’ll escape the city’s noise. I’ll be singing live, directly into your ears — something I’ve never done before,”
— says Gabriele Vilkickytė.
The concert will feature songs from different stages of Gabriele’s career, with special guests joining her on stage. Listeners, immersed in sound through headphones, will experience an extraordinary and intimate evening under the open sky — in the very heart of Vilnius, where dreams merge with the city’s silence.
Important: The event will take place outdoors — please dress accordingly for the weather. Photography and filming will occur throughout the festival, and visual material will be used for public communication and promotion.
