Tango Extremo (The Netherlands) presents: 'MAESTROS'

An ode to a wide range of some amazing Argentine tango composers and musicians of the last 100 years. From Astor Piazzolla to Anibal Troilo and from Osvaldo Pugliese to Carlos Gardel, but all set in our own danceable jazz / impro arrangements

Since its inception in 2003, Tango Extremo has experienced a development that is, to say the least, quite remarkable. The orchestra has performed on practically all large and small concert stages in the Netherlands, but also many other countries have had the opportunity to become acquainted with this ensemble intensively.

The group was founded by violinist Tanya Schaap, who has been the artistic motor behind this ensemble ever since.

The repertoire is very broad and diverse in its style. Influences from European and South American folklore, classical music, jazz and improvisation and Brazilian music are combined with the Argentinean tango.

Besides in homecountry, Tango Extremo has toured in a.o. Spain, France, Portugal, Belgium, Italy, Mexico, United Kingdom, Turkey, Kurdistan, Ireland, Croatia, China, South Africa, Botswana, Bolivia, Uruguay, South Korea, Greenland, Iceland, Germany, Switzerland, Aruba, Curaçao, Sint Maarten, Ecuador and Colombia.
